Students of Chandraketugarh S. S. Mahavidyalay, who were scheduled to sit for B.A. (Hons) exam at Barasat Government College, have been shifted to Taki Government College. Students of Bamanpukur H. K. Mahavidyalay, who were scheduled to sit for B.A. (Hons. + General) examination at Chandraketugarh S. S. Mahavidyalay, have been shifted to Basirhat College.

B.A. (Hons) students of Economics, Geography and Psychology will continue to sit for their rest of the examinations at the same centre at which they had appeared for their Honours Examination.

Some of the exam schedules have been changed. Exams, previously scheduled for 24.06.09, have been shifted to 26.06.09. Also exams scheduled previously for 26.06.09 have been rescheduled to 07.07.09

All Principals/TIC/OIC of affiliated non-B.Ed colleges, who have not yet entered the faculty list in http://www.wbsubcollegeinfo.org page, are requested to submit to the Registrar at least a hard copy of the faculty list containing name, qualification, position, subject and date of appointment of the teachers. Please treat it as Urgent.

The Government of West Bengal has through an Act of the Legislative Assembly has passed West Bengl Act XXVIII of 200 7 implementing a long standing public demand in creating the University named "West Bengal State University(Barasat,North 24 Paragans)" This became functional from the Academic Session 2008-09. 5 7 colleges formerly belonging to Calcutta University has been through a Government notification No.300-Edn(U)/ IU-38/08 dated , the 26th May, 2008 transferred to this University.
The campus of the University will be bulit at the Nilgunj road, close to No.34 National highway and the recently constructed express way. Currently its Camp office is located at Barasat Government College Annexe building at 10 KNC Road, Barasat , North 24 Pgs.
All Subjects that are being taught at the Honours level in different Colleges in the district as well as some new/emerging Subjects will be taught both in Under-graduate and Post-graduate levels.
